Editorial Policy
GAZI UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF LAW REVIEW (GÜHFD) EDITORIAL POLICY
 
  1. Gazi University Faculty of Law Review (GÜHFD) is published four times per year as a “Peer-reviewed Journal” and it is indexed by ULAKBIM. Since July 2016 “Double Peer-review” system has started to be applied.
  2. Articles submitted to the Journal should not have been published or submitted elsewhere to be published; Submittal of the article to our Journal constitutes a commitment by the author.
  3. Articles should be written in “Microsoft Word” software. Body of the article should be formatted as Times New Roman-12 points-normal style; footnotes should be formatted as Times New Roman-10 points-normal style and submitted on a CD or via email to the Editor.
  4. The main language of the Journal is Turkish; however, articles written in English, German or French are also published.
  5. Articles submitted to the Journal should be accompanied by summaries comprised of 100-200 words and five keywords written in the languages of the summaries. Should the article is written in Turkish; a summary written   in English, German or French must also be supplemented. Should the article is written in a foreign language; it must be accompanied by a summary in Turkish.
  6. Names of the authors, their institutions and email addresses should be provided along with the article.
  7. It is assumed that the authors have submitted the articles to the Journal after proof-reading and said articles are ready to be published. Upon the preliminary audit of the Editorial Board, articles that are determined to be not compliant with scientific standards and/or editorial policy of the Journal and articles that contain typos above the ordinary are declined.
  8. Following the preliminary audit of the Editorial Board, the articles are presented to two peer reviewers without the name of the author in accordance with the blind review format and an “Article ID” number is given. Authors are also informed about this number. Authors can see the review process with the help of article tracking system. Authors are not informed regarding the identity of the reviewers. Should the reviewers demand corrections, the author may amend the article only in reference to said corrections. Following the corrections made by the author, the article may be re-presented to the reviewer as per the reviewer’s wish. Should the article is declined by the reviewers; no subsequent reviews are carried out. When the article is declined by one reviewer but accepted by other then the article will be sent to third reviewer. Declined articles are not sent back to their authors. The author is informed regarding the circumstance.
  9. Book reviews, opinions on legislation, advisory notes and court decision analyses may also be published in the Journal along with peer reviewed articles. Such materials may be accepted or declined by the Editorial Board.
  10. All publishing rights of articles that are accepted to be published, including but not limited to full-text publication online, belong to Gazi University. Authors are assumed to have transferred said rights to the University and they are not paid any royalties.
  11. A bibliography, comprised of the resource materials cited in the article, should be provided at the end of each article. The bibliography should be arranged alphabetically with regards to the surnames of the authors and the first line hanging.
  12. Materials cited in the bibliography should be styled as such:

Books:

SURNAME, Name: Title, Edition, Publisher, Place published, Year published. Sample:

Articles:

SURNAME, Name, “Title of the Article”, Title of the Book/Journal, Volume, Number, pp.

URLs of online materials should be indicated in brackets along with the date of access.

Should the material is co-authored; names of each author should be fully provided.

Citations for referred resources should be added as footnotes at the end of each page. First citation should include complete information regarding the resource material. Dissimilarly to the bibliography, first citation to any resource material must include the name of the author as (Name SURNAME) and a comma must be placed between the name of the author and the title of the material. Relevant page of the material should be at the end of the citation.

Subsequent citations to same resource material should be as such: SURNAME, ibid, p. or SURNAME, p.
Sample: AYHAN, ibid, 36. or AYHAN, s.36.
Should more than one material written by a single author are referred to,   ibid should not be used. Should the publication years of said materials differ, year for each material should be indicated in brackets; otherwise, title of the material should be abbreviated to distinguish it from other materials written by the same author.
